Specializing in farmhouse inspired beers from France and Belgium, but made with a Pacific Northwest twist, Upright Brewing has been delivering the goods, with quality beers since 2009. Named after Charles Mingus’instrument, the brewery shares the same spirit of jazz in exercising creativity. If you visit Portland, make sure you visit the brewery, located in the Leftbank building and try their beer in the basement tasting room.
If you can’t make it to Portland, we’ve just tapped for our first offering from these purveyors of fine craft beer. At 4.75%, Saison Vert is a wheat based brew using sun dried black limes that contribute not only an attractive flavour of citrus but also a depth that when combined with Upright’s open fermentation method and saison strains, results in a complex profile. The Vert rides the fine line of being easy and enjoyable but full of nuance.
Available in 10 and 13 oz pours.
